The Arduino family of microcontrollers is a big player in the Maker movement. These simple, cheap, open-source microcontroller boards enable the rapid prototyping of projects. They will probably get even more popular as the Internet of Things (IoT) continues to grow. One of the shortcomings of Arduino, however, is its integrated development environment (IDE). If you are used to programming in Visual Studio, it can be quite frustrating to use the Arduino IDE. This session will show how Visual Studio 2015 can be used to program the Arduino, with special emphasis on the Arduino for Visual Studio 2015 extension created by Visual Micro.
